As I start to immerse myself more into the world of interior design for inspiration for upcoming events, the more excited I get. Events are just big interiors waiting to be molded into something fantastic. In the first issue of High Gloss magazine, there is a cover feature on Designer David Jimenez and I do believe it was love at first sight for me. It’s official. I have a crush. His design style and technique for both interiors and events is right up my alley. The best part is David isn’t a professional designer…I know, I didn’t believe it at first either. This made me love him even more because I’m in no way, shape or form a professional when it comes to my opinion on interiors and everything I post is purely what strikes my fancy. But I do think I have a pretty good aesthetic eye and I’m gonna go ahead and put this out there...but my next long term goal (emphasis on long) is to be the next David Jimenez…aim high or go home, no? If I could host a dinner party with any designer, he’d be on top of my list. So chic, glamorous, elegant and livable. Love you David Jimenez.

Hello Lover...
Ah Valentine’s Day. A little less than a week away, begging the question: How do I "wow" my S.O.? Let’s face it ladies, there are 2 ways to a man’s heart. 1- his stomach and 2 - well…we all know what 2 is…
Valentines Day shouldn’t be about the biggest, grandest spectacle you can think of or flashiest, trendiest restaurant you can get reservations at. In my opinion, an intimate dinner for 2 (at home) is always so much more special (not to mention fun). So if you’re aspirations are to be the next contestant on Top Chef, show him your skills and whip up something fabulous. If you’re like me, and cooking anything becomes a comedic sketch or fire hazzard, skip the stress and have something yummy catered in. Whatever the case may be, pair your meal with an intimate and romantic table setting for two. Here are some ideas below. Easy peasy. Bon appetite!
And for dessert, set his heart racing with something a little sexy and tasteful. Here’s a little inspiration from Shopbop’s latest V-day inspired ads.

Local Spotlight: Penelope’s Press
Looking for unique, letter pressed, custom designed paper products? I recently stumbled upon a small local outfit that does just that (and the owner just so happens to be a friend of my very good friend). Penelope’s Press designs playful and fun invitations, business cards, stationary, announcements, name/gift tags and so much more. Debbie, the printer behind the press, runs her business right from her home and hand feeds each product through her beloved vintage presses. They are simple, fun and fabulous. I adore.
Check out some of her recent great designs below. You can also shop her products on Etsy.

High Gloss Magazine
A fantastic new online lifestyle magazine launched this week, called High Gloss. It covers everything from interiors to entertaining to fashion to travel. I had a chance to give it my full attention last night, reading it from cover to cover and loved it! I kind of knew I would considering I follow most of the editors of the pub via their blogs. Peep it if you have a chance.

Snow Day!
Watching Blizzard 2011/Thundersnow unfold from the 31st floor of my apartment was definitely interesting last night and it ain’t over yet kiddos. More snow…more wind…more cold. Hold onto to your hats! Better yet, stay indoors and stay warm!
Hope you’re warm at home today close to a fire…
Cozy in your PJs…
Wrapped in one of these (just like SJP)…
Enjoying a yummy latte…
Indulging in movies and a stack of your favorite glossies…

It’s a Snowpocalypse!
Snowmageddon. Snownado. Thundersnow. A storm of historic proportions. Those are just a few terms being thrown around referencing the blizzard lovely Chicago is bracing itself for. Snow is pretty but not when you have negative 20 degree temps, 50-60 mile/per hour winds, ice, thunder (yes, apparently there is a such thing as thunder snow) and who knows what else. I don’t know about you, but I’m over winter. Forget about looking cute. From the layers of clothes to the never-ending static in my hair from my hat and scarf which clings to my face and lip gloss to the annoying fact I can’t use my phone with my gloves on and when I take them off I get frost bite…enough already. Therefore, I’m officially counting down the days until my first trip of 2011 (45 to be exact)…Puerto Rico. So here’s a little sunspiration on this cold, messy morning.
Adios puffy coat, static cling scarf and trapper hat...this is more my style:
Resort Wear - Tory Burch, Michelle Watch – Bloomingdales, YSL Sunglasses – Net-a-Porter, Fedora – Net-a-Porter
Hola Puerto Rico!
