All the Belles and Whistles

Yes, another bridal line by another fabulous designer. This one is a little different though. Instead of placing all the focus on the big day, what about all of the celebratory events leading up to and following? This has been part of my mission for J. Borders Event Design which makes me so drawn to the collection. As an event stylist, I truely believe the celebration doesn't have to being or end with a wedding. Everything surrounding the big day and special occasions after are just as important and should be just as fabulous. A believer in the same, Kate Spade just launched Wedding Belles (and whistles) - a collection of little white dresses and colorful accoutrements for every shower and soiree. They also have a great feature that helps you accessorize these white frocks with fun color. Bravo, Bravo

If you know me, you know I love Bravo TV. I mean, what's not to love? And I haven't figured out if this is good news or bad yet since this will add more unnecessary TV time to my list, but 2 great new style shows are a comin'!

First...Rachel Zoe's former assistant, Brad, is getting his own show...It's a Brad, Brad World. Love it! Will there be a showdown between him and Rachel Zoe herself? Can't wait for this one.

The second is airing this summer and if it's anything close to Million Dollar Listing it's sure to be a hit. Million Dollar Decorators. Decorating on a limitless budget? I think I just died and gone to heaven. Check it...will you watch?

Chicago Venues Galore!

When hosting an event, the space itself can be the most important factor in successfully executing your vision. Chicago is definitely not lacking in some amazing spaces. There are always the tried and true/iconic venues like The Ritz Carlton, Harold Washington Library, Cafe Brauer at the Lincoln Park Zoo and A New Leaf. But some new, unique and chic spaces seem to be popping up everywhere. Here are just a few to consider if you are hosting an event in the near future.

Opening in November: Greenhouse Loft...For the Eco-Friendly Folks
The 3,500-square-foot raw space is located in Logan Square and features a sun-filled space called the Glass House as well as an 8,000-square-foot organic garden.

Dinner Party Time: Chicago Q and Sepia
Dying to host a dinner party but your place is just too dang small? How about a BBQ themed soiree at recently opened Chicago Q in the Gold Coast? Choose from the private octagon room that seats 12 or the wine room that seats 30. Best part? You don't have to cook for this dinner party...choose from items like kobe brisket prepared in wood-burning smokers, buttermilk mashed potatoes and bacon-cheddar hush puppies. Nothing says loving like comfort food. Mmmmm.

The CHI-RISH were in full swing this past weekend here in the windy city. A sea of green (tees, hats, socks, shamrock headbands, beer and cocktails) flooded the streets in honor of a Saint named Patrick.
